IBSP yakking

Since I've gotten my yak at the beginning of the summer I've been going out to IBSP every other week. In the time I've caught a mix of sea robbins, fluke, and spots. Ive been paddling all over trying out some new spots and am just looking for some insight. My typical path brings me down the channel that brings you to the inlet.

I know I see guys go both right and left when they launch there yaks. Just wondering if anyone can give me some insite of some other places I can toss the line. Looking for mainly snappers and bass now.

Well for one thing you have been getting out more than me this year.  With the cleanup here and being so hot I have been keeping to night fishing for the
most part.  But, with that said if you go north there is deeper water and now we just have to look for the holes again.  Everything has changes below the water so it will take time to find stuff now.

I know there were blues caught this summer and as the water temps cool down the stripers will be starting to move around a bit more.

As usual thank you for the information. Thats all I was looking for.  Ive been putting in the time and I've been having a great time doing it. I may have gotten out on the kayak more than you but im sure youve been to the beach more than me!

Im going to go out again tomorrow and look and see what I can find. Ill let ya know how I make out.

Good luck.  I'll be shooting a wedding tomorrow down in Ship Bottom with my daughter.  Her first wedding shoot with us.  She is graduating from the Arts Institute of Philadelphia on the 20th and we all are excited.  Oh yeah we have a second wedding shoot on Saturday.  Nothing like jumping into the fire with both feet.

Its good to have work. The arts field is is a tough on. I wish you both the best of luck! I did always have fun playing with the camera but weddings are a whole different beast with all the black and whites.

so i ended up going out and to say the least, it wasnt that great. The wind was whipping, the current was pretty strong and had me going everywhere.in the end I just moved a little closer to shire, hung my feet out and relaxed for a little then went in.

ill probably get out again soon and explore some more.

YakJ..... This time of year can be awesome fishing the back country of Island Beach State Park.

But the time of day your fishing with play a major part in just how good of a day you will have fishing.

Late at night under the dark sky the big fish will come in to the shallow water and feed on the bait fish.

If you can be on the water before the sun comes up.....You will start to improve your fishing......

The number one thing to keep in mind about fishing the back country of the Bay is that its always going to be opposite of what your thinking.

This is the number one reason why most kayak fisherman fail at catching fish while out.

The ramp at Island Beach State Park A-21....As soon as you make that last turn heading to the water,shut your lights off....Some of my best nights have been right at the ramp.....If the head lights it the water at all....Game over !!!!!
