Pops Soul 10-6
« on: October 06, 2007, 08:11:57 PM »
The wife and I left the dock around noon. Beautiful day and nice seas. Headed up to Asbury park hit my first spot for drifting Sea Bass in 60 feet of water. The wife had one quick bite on the Hi Low rig with Squid on the bottom and salted clam on the top, and that was it after a 15 minute drift through the area. Moved to are second deep water spot, NO Bites. We moved north to one of Irish ayes hot spots " Squid Head" No one home. Moved inshore to the red church rocks and started picking up fish and ended are day swinging on the hook because of a stiff breeze blowing out of the SW and 4 keeper Sea Bass in the box and to many shorts to count. I heard of talk on the radio of Spanish Macks in the area. I spoke with some guys from the marina who were out diving in 70 to 80 feet of water and said they had almost zero visibility at the bottom, perhaps the explanation for the lack of a deep water bite 5hrug

Nice report Skip.  I'll be out tomorrow.  Me and two others.  Don't know what we are going for yet.

Give me a shout when you get on the water.
