Hunter 2- Sandy hook and the Reach area 10-15-13
« on: October 16, 2013, 08:23:22 AM »
I fished the incoming tide again in the afternoon for 3 1/2 hrs.  A few boats were trolling by the Reach buoy 14 area but it looked slow. Water temp was still 61,62 degrees.  I started trolling around the candlesticks and deeper buoys off the hook.  No takers here.  I switched over to live eels on the rip and surrounding areas while tossing artificials around also tried the 11a buoy that is now 25' off the hook and a heavy wash area. 5hrug.     I moved over to Flynns knoll where I saw a boat anchored and chumming clams and again drifted eels and tossed artificials, still nothing.    On the way back to Keyport I trolled the Reach on the side of the channel from the 10 to 14 buoys.  Still no action.  I saw no bait or birds anywhere.
I'm off these 2 weeks so will be fishing hard.
My next attempt will be the outgoing tide with a different presentation for bait.  Just like I do in the springtime. t^    Good luck,  Eddie
