Kudos once again to PC Richard & Sons
« on: November 27, 2013, 10:58:49 AM »
Kudos once again to PC Richard & Sons for holding firm. Despite what many other companies are doing, PC Richard is affording their associates the opportunity to enjoy Thanksgiving with their families.  As it was for many years, and as it should be.  slt

Happy Thanksgiving! t^

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

As long as you have peeps willing to run out and spend their $$$ you will have stores willing to open their door any time of day or night and cash in.

I don't care for it one bit but you will never get the masses to stay away. Further erosion of family values. :P

For those that care, here is a complete list of retailers who will not be open on Thanksgiving.  I'm sure not all of these companies are staying closed for altruistic reasons.  And I'm not saying these companies are perfect on every issue, but on this one I think they are 100% in the right. t^

From Costco's vice president for membership and marketing, Paul Latham:

"Our employees work especially hard during the holiday season, and we simply believe that they deserve the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their families.  Nothing more complicated than that."

These are the stores I will consider spending my money in this holiday season.

A.C. Moore
Ace Hardware
Apple Stores
Bath & Body Works
Bloomingdale's
BJ's Wholesale Club
Build-a-Bear Workshop
Burlington Coat Factory
Cabela’s
Costco
Dillards
Fred Meyer
Fry's Electronics
GameStop
Half Price Books
Haverty’s
Hobby Lobby
Home Depot
Joann Fabric & Craft Stores
Lowe’s
Marshall's
Meijer
Menards
Nordstrom / Nordstrom Rack
Pep Boys
Petco
PetSmart
Radio Shack
Saks
Sam's Club
Stein Mart
TJ Maxx
Tractor Supply Company
True Value Hardware
