Newark Bay 12/13/13
« on: December 13, 2013, 10:07:06 PM »
Figured I'd get out before the snow hits this weekend. Started at around 4:00 with clams. At around 5:00 two more guys showed up and I had not caught anything yet. They set up and around 6:00 they caught a few super duper short stripers on bloodworms. I was still biteless on the clams. They offered me a bloodworm and it was on. On the same bloodworm I caught three super duper short stripers and a white perch. For the next two hours the three of us alternated between watching the rods and keeping warm in the car with some hot chocolate. I called it a day a little after 8:00. Total between the three of us was about 10 or 12 super duper short stripers around 5 or 6 inches, two larger but still really small stripers around 12 or 14 inches, and two white perch. These stripers, by the way, were the smallest stripers I have ever seen. Nice energetic young of the year stripers.
