This weekend looks to be the most settled in some time, despite an active weather pattern. Rain and thunderstorms will move out during the overnight, with clearing skies.  Lingering flooding is possible, especially along rivers and streams and with snow melt occurring from the warmer temperatures. Saturday will be dry with sunny skies and mild temperatures in the upper 40’s to upper 50’s. Sunday will bring a chance of scattered showers during the day, however there should be more sun than clouds with again upper 40’s to upper 50’s. Sunday Night looks like the highest chances of showers becoming snow showers. These will be more widely scattered or widespread. Organized precipitation will not begin until later Sunday Night with snow after midnight or so. Lows overnight will be in the upper 20’s to upper 30’s. Water conditions will improve into Saturday with the potential of some gustier winds Saturday Afternoon and then subsiding for Sunday again before picking up on Sunday Night into Monday. Conditions look to remain below SCA criteria inshore. Offshore could see borderline winds and seas. Surf and beach conditions look good to ok, with some gustier winds on Saturday Afternoon, but surf will remain 1-3 feet or so. Water temperatures have increased a few degrees, now with inshore waters in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Offshore waters are mostly unchanged in the upper 40’s still. UV Index will range from Low to Moderate at 1-4/15.

A warm front will gradually lift northward across much of the area Friday, followed by a strong cold front moving through the region later Friday. Weak high pressure will build to the south of the area tonight before another cold front crosses the area later Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. A weak low will develop Sunday Night along the front as it tracks to the east. High pressure across the Northern Plains will then extend toward the Mid Atlantic into early next week. Low pressure, however, may develop along a front to the south on Tuesday and Wednesday. A few cold fronts may then move through the area, one arriving later Wednesday and another on later Thursday.

Next week will return back to an unsettled weather pattern with Arctic Air moving in again around midweek. Precipitation chances are possible Tuesday and Wednesday, including potential snow. Snow could return again late in the week or into the weekend. Water, surf and beach conditions will be cautious on Monday and then again midweek and possibly late week. This will be a developing situation into the start of the week.

Have a great weekend!
