A Winter Storm/Nor'Easter is forecast for late Tuesday Afternoon through Wednesday. A powerful coastal low will form to the south of the area, rapidly intensifying as it moves north-northeast. The track *should* keep the worst of the storm offshore and east of the area. This storm will still bring 1-2 inches and 2-4 inches to state. With cold air in place, there may be minimal mixing, however this is the end of March! In addition to precipitation, gusty winds to 40 mph, minor coastal flooding, high seas building to 5-8 feet inshore and 9-10 feet offshore, rough, high surf and beach erosion.
The models agree, for the most part on track and intensity bringing a sub 997mb storm along our area and around 960 mb storm to New England. However, the ensembles show the possibility of a more westerly track, which means a stronger storm with more snow and more coastal involvements.
Updates to come around 5PM today after the mid day models are out.
Be safe!
