Yellow Perch
« on: March 24, 2014, 12:10:38 PM »
streams and rivers are loaded with yellow perch right now, if you live near a dam and NEED to catch somethin than get some worms or minnows and try the waters below the dam, i got 20 or so on sunday and kept 6 of the bigguns, they are tasty

Sounds great.  At least you got out, which is a good thing.  I will be getting my freshwater license this year and try to get out more often with the kayak.

Where are you located?  Here in Ocean County there are a number of good lakes to have fun with.  I will be interested in the one out by Great Adventure, Prospertown Lake.  It is up to full height now plus the stocking that was done last year sounds interesting.  Not to sure if they will be stocking this year due to the problems at Pequest Hatchery. I guess we will see what happens soon.

Happy Catching

Where in Toms River do you work?  They are catching small bass in the Toms River right now plus winter flounder and  some perch as well all on blood worms.

Today I know of a bass caught in Island Heights and a winter flounder caught off the park in South Toms River.

Happy Catching

Try the park called Mathis Park.  It is the small park just before you go into Toms river.  They are catching winter flounder there now.  Blood worms, clams and small jigs in white or pink.

Good Luck

I think you're talking about the same place.  The park just to the north of Capt'n Hippo's is Mathis Park. t^
