This weekend will be a bit unsettled. Sun will mix with clouds with chances of isolated to scattered showers both days. Saturday looks like the chances are more confined to Western and Northern/Northwestern parts of NJ, but Sunday will be statewide. These chances are less than 50% and any showers will be isolated or scattered. Sun and dry conditions will still dominate the weather this weekend with highs in the 60’s to 70’s with overnight lows in the 40’s and 50’s. Saturday will have light winds, but Sunday could be breezy. Water conditions will be good on Saturday, while Sunday will see much gustier winds. Cautious conditions are likely with winds 25-30 knots and inshore seas 3-4 feet. Small Craft Advisories are possible. Some areas may not see the winds increase until later, but Sunday will have deteriorating conditions. The forecasts are split at this time with BuoyWeather on the lower side and NWS taking the higher side. Sunday is one of those days to check the conditions for yourself, in person, as one area could be fine and another not. Surf and beach conditions will good to ok. Besides possible gustier winds on Sunday, surf conditions should return to normal and remain in the 1-2 foot range all weekend. Water temperatures are steady in the mid 40’s to low 50’s. UV Index will be Moderate to High at 3-7/15.

An area of low pressure will be located well to the north Friday and Friday Night. A cold front continues to the south and east Friday Morning. A weak high pressure system builds across the Southern States. The low drifts eastward over the weekend and across New England late Sunday into Monday, a cold front will cross the region on Sunday as well. The front is forecast to stall well to the south Monday and Tuesday as high pressure extends into our area from the northwest. The front will then start to lift northward as a warm front Wednesday and Thursday.

The week will start off dry through Wednesday with rain chances moving in for the end of the week. Temperatures will be average in the 60’s with 40’s overnight. Coastal areas will see slightly cooler highs and northern areas will see lows into the upper 30’s still possible. Water conditions look Cautious with Small Craft Advisories through Tuesday or Wednesday, improving into later Wednesday and then the end of the week. Surf and beach conditions look good to ok with some gustier winds possible Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly diminishing on Wednesday and likely for Thursday and Friday. Surf may be slightly rougher, but wave heights should remain around 1-3 feet.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
