Some help please?
« on: August 19, 2014, 04:38:14 PM »
Hello all,

Any help would be much appreciated. I'll be back in the NJ area for the first time in almost 3 years. Decided to bring the boat up with the hope of getting a friend and his son out for some fluking mid next week.

Hoping you can suggest a quality reef or rock structure to land keeper fluke? Anywhere is NJ is fine, though hoping not to go too far offshore considering my friends son is still very young and somewhat new to fishing... hoping to get him hooked!

Many thanks in advance!
-Kevin

To be honest, just pick which ever inlet you like, and go hit up a reef, and/or look for the head boats and set up in there general area. They will be where the better fishing chances are.

Out of Shark River Inlet, Red Church. Oops, did I say that out loud?  TT^

You don't have to be far offshore for fluke. Any where from just off the beach (be prepared to catch many shorts) to three miles out should produce.

Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your help!

Planning to check out red church. Also, highly considering heading out to the sea girt reef / klondike....

Does anyone prefer a section of the sea girt? North arm?

Any suggestions for the Klondike?

Many thanks!

At the Klondike you will see the flags marking the fish pots. Drift near them and you should catch. Just watch going between the pots you don't hook up with the line between the pots.  t^

if you go a lil north de la iglesia roja there is the shrewsbury rocks too; lots of sticky stuff in the vicinity. Continue a lil more north and BAM!!! SH reef. All basically will within a couple miles from the beach...

Have fun!!!
