A very mixed weekend, but not a washout for weather or water conditions. Both days will have chances of showers. Saturday will have the lowest chances, starting off with patchy fog in the early morning and becoming a mix of sun and some clouds. There are very low chances of showers, mostly isolated at best. Sunday will have a mix of sun and clouds with higher chances of showers and thunderstorms. This is still below a 50% chance all day with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe. Highs will be in the 70’s and lower 80’s with overnight lows in the 50’s and 60’s. As a southerly flow returns, Summer is hanging on this weekend bringing moderate to high humidity and the chances of showers and thunderstorms. Water conditions will be the bigger foe with borderline to cautious conditions on ocean waters. Winds will pick up Saturday Afternoon building seas as well. Winds will continue over night for most places building seas 3-5 feet inshore and 4-7 offshore. Sunday will see a mix of winds, most being on the sub 10 knot side, however seas could still run high, prompting a borderline day. Rivers and bays look good. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Winds will be gusty on Saturday PM and surf will be rougher in the 2-4 foot and 3-5 foot range. Rip Currents will be Moderate to High. Thunderstorms on Sunday could increase winds and seas locally, as well. Water temperatures are in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to High.
High pressure will move across to the north of the region on Friday and then shift offshore Friday Night. A cold front will cross the area Sunday Night into Monday. High pressure builds in from the west Monday and remains through the end of next week.
Next week looks dry and seasonal, with highs in the 60’s and 70’s and overnight lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mixed between good and borderline to cautious. Monday and Wednesday look like the main two days of borderline to cautious conditions.
Edouard is still out at sea and exiting to the northeast. There is another area being watched that just emerged from Africa.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
