Mostly good week with a some precipitation possible mid to late week with cold air moving in towards the end of the week and a mix of good to cautious water conditions. Monday and Tuesday Day will be dry with rain chances for Tuesday Day and Tuesday Night, staying into Wednesday before clearing out for Wednesday Night. Showers and snow showers will return for Thursday Night with rain returning for Friday before clearing out again on Friday Night. Snow does not look to be accumulating at this point, however the northern tier of the US will have its first “Winter” Storm with accumulating snow. Highs will begin in the 60’s then drop to the 50’s and then 40’s by late week, as cold arctic air moves in to the US. Lows will be in the 50’s then 30’s and 40’s and then 20’s and 30’s. Water conditions look mostly good this week. Mid to late week could see borderline to cautious conditions with mainly gustier winds in excess of 20 knots and some building seas to 4-6 feet. Surf and beach conditions are good to ok. Winds could be gusty for the end of the week with some rougher surf, but wave heights will still average 1-3, maybe some 2-4 feet. Water temperatures are steady in the 50’s to low 60’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 2-3/15.

High pressure will continue to move slowly northeast over the region on Sunday Night into Monday. A low will lift northeast just off the coast on Tuesday and Wednesday. At the same time a low will cross the northern tier of the US bringing a strong cold front through the region on Wednesday. Colder air will then move into the region through the late week.

Saturday looks dry, but Sunday could see rain chances again. Highs will only be in the 40’s and maybe some low 50’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. So far, water, surf and beach conditions look good for the weekend. Maybe some gustier winds around 15 knots possible and borderline conditions offshore, but all other locations look good at this point.

The Atlantic Tropics are quiet.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!

Re: Accumulating Snow!

Yes, that is correct. The first forecast accumulating snow of the season tonight for Western and Northern NJ Counties. The good...it should be less than an inch.
