Overall, not a bad weekend for weather or water conditions. Saturday and most of Sunday look dry. Sunday Night will have some rain and snow likely. Some areas will see all rain, others a mix, others some snow. Accumulations, if any, look minimal. Saturday will have more sun than Sunday as clouds increase. Arctic air has moved in bringing Winter-like temperatures. This cold air looks to stick around for a while. Highs will be in the 40’s inland with some low 50’s along the coast. Overnight lows will be in the 20’s to 40’s. Water conditions look good to borderline overall. Southern and Offshore waters will be cautious and offshore waters will have seas to 5+ feet. Otherwise, early Saturday and Sunday Afternoon will see the highest winds. Surf and beach conditions will be good, possibly some gusty winds. Water temperatures have dropped in rivers and bays and slightly for inshore ocean waters, but some areas are still in the 60’s, with other areas in the upper 40’s to upper 50’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 2-3/15.
Strengthening low pressure northeast of the Mid Atlantic Coast will continue moving northeast on Friday. High pressure will follow for Saturday. Another disturbance and cold front will move into the area on Monday. Low pressure, forming along the Gulf Coast will move along the front close to our region on Monday into Tuesday. High pressure will then move back in behind this system for the middle of next week.
Next week will start off with chances of rain and snow on Monday then clearing for the rest of the week. Snow does not look like anything more than a mix to light accumulations, but that could change. Highs will only be in the 40’s and low 50’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Water conditions will be good to borderline on Monday becoming cautious to hazardous on Tuesday and cautious to borderline for the rest of the week. Surf and beach conditions will be good on Monday, cautious to hazardous on Tuesday and cautious to ok for the rest of the week.
Tropics are quiet.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
