How to use an anchor ball
« on: January 16, 2015, 06:08:19 AM »

If you do not have a windlass on a vessel an anchorball can be a back saver.  It will also help pull out an anchor that is stuck.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

it works, but don't run over the rode.. once that ball goes under, you can't see anything and once the rope tightens, they boat will turn directions..
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

We have one on "Peggy Lee" and use the ball when we can. Keep in mind tight anchor spots with other vessels anchored will certainly  LIMIT your use of the ball system. In those conditions we use the muscle of the mate.  t^

Thanks, Eddie.   I have one but hardly use it as I usually end up anchored in a fleet.  It worked well when I tried it in the bay.  t^

Should get one as a backup.
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
