squid vs cuttlefish

What do the party boats use for fluke squid strips or cuttlefish strips ive noticed the strips they use are thicker
Then the squid strips that i cut does anyone know?

Go to your local Asian grocer. You'll find the large squid tubes there. Nice and thick.

You can strip them out. Add scent like bunker oil or crab scent and refreeze them in ziplock bags or vacuum seal them in small portions.  Squid can be refrozen several times without getting mushy.

the only fool proof bait is fresh strips of whatever junk fish you catch out there.. Fluke ribbons or Bluefish strips, fresh, are the best.  I don't even waste my time with squid anymore.

I find the cuttlefish from the Asian market in Levittown is larger and cheaper than squid and works just as well.  I use the largest cuttlefish they have for shark fishing. Works well so far.
