So, it is still snowing over much of the state. Some areas in Southern NJ have changed over to a mix or all rain. Accumulations were much greater than anticipated as the system tracked farther south and was a bit stronger. Very heavy banding is responsible for a large part of the accumulation as well. Precipitation will taper off tonight and gradual clearing into Saturday and Saturday Night. Saturday and Sunday will see dry conditions with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday will be windy late in the day and into the overnight and for Sunday Morning. Highs will only be in the 30’s with overnight lows in the teens and 20’s. Water conditions will start off good becoming cautious later on Saturday and then early on Sunday before improving for most locations. High seas may be the bigger problem with seas inshore to 8 feet this weekend. Offshore will see cautious to hazardous conditions most of the weekend with seas to 10 feet. Surf and beach conditions will be ok. Winds will be gusty at times and surf will be higher at 4-8 feet on Saturday and 3-5 feet on Sunday. Water temperatures are steady in the 30’s and 40’s. UV Index will be Moderate at 3-5/15.
A low pressure system tracking to the south, will move along the coast, then to the east through Friday Night. A cold front will move across the area late Saturday into Saturday Night. High pressure will build toward the area Sunday and move across the area Monday into Tuesday, before shifting eastward into Wednesday. A slow moving cold front will cross the region on Thursday into Friday.
Monday’s Outlook- Dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the 30’s with overnight lows in the 20’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will start off cautious and improve to good inshore. Offshore will be cautious all day.
The rest of the week will start off dry on Tuesday and then chances of rain showers move in for the rest of the week. Highs will start in the 40’s and make up into the 50’s for Thursday, then back into the 40’s to end the week. Overnight lows will range from the 20’s to 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look good on Tuesday and Wednesday and then cautious to hazardous on Thursday and Friday.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading! My Week Outlook will be late on Sunday, most likely, so I have prefaced Monday’s weather above.
