5/3 A.M. Trip
Mike and I had the boat out for the morning and the p.m. trips.
Started out with Mark, Andy, Max, Dennis and Matt from NJSWF. Took a run to the secret spot but found super cold water with the incoming tide at 49.5 degrees from 57 the day before. Read a few fish and set up to troll down that line. Took awhile for things to happen on the outgoing, but when the water temps came up a bit we started getting bites. Found a productive area in NY waters and pounded it for a while coming tight on 5 fish all in the low to mid 20lb class and missing a few more. The guys stayed patient at the rails and it panned out for them nicely.
Back out for the Afternoon run we ran back to where we had them....lifeless. Trolled around some other areas to see what we could find and again with the incoming the temp dropped quickly. Set up on the hook for a bit with only 1 short amd a few misses to show.
back up on the troll to cover more ground and we came across the mother load of big bluefish to 12 lbs and the guys were more than game to battle the big choppers!....but was tough evening for us on the bass.
