sunday trolling
« on: May 03, 2015, 09:18:06 PM »
Fisher with Ed aboard the Hallie Loren today for some striped ones. Got a late start as planned because one of the crew needs a little time. Headed out towards keansburg and set out the stretches. Towed them around the bay for a while cleaning grasses of the lines and looking for water that wasn't covered in mud. Had no takers and poor reports on the radio. Heard there were blues by the ammo pier so we made a run. Got setup again and shortly after we came tight. Bluefish as big and as many as you could want. We let eddies guests from Brooklyn catch some for the table. After tide change headed back to the striper grounds and tried a little.of everything with no takers. Bite seemed to be early in the day as opposed to later how its been. Covered a great deal of water today a d wasn't for lack of effort fish just were on a different clock. Thanks eddie for having me aboard. On the bright side Scoot G and I got to practice on the gaf.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Despite not catching any Stripers we had a great time on a beautiful day. The bluefish were down by the navy pier around the yellow buoy. No blues were caught by us anywhere else in the bay. We constantly had to clean the grass off the stretches.. The Stripers were biting in the morning but we had a late start.  BigAl and Scott G worked hard all day checking lines.   chrz

The grass was crazy on the Jersey side, really annoying having to clean lines almost every couple minutes.  Nice report  chrz
