Had Mike Striffler, Don K, and Steve Magyari aboard for a bass-bluefish jig trip.
Ran out the inlet, found birds and fish for miles... Stayed with them, all within a few miles of our inlet, and beat the snot out of them all day long on butterfly jigs, surface plugs, AVA's, and swimming plugs.
Tallied around 36 or so bass, give or take a few, keeping our limit of 8, and out of those 3 dozen fish about half were keepers. Most fish were 28-35", however Steve and MIke both nailed fish around 20# and around 40". Bluefish were also in the mix, had maybe 30-40 of them, most were 10-15# alligators. All fish were feeding rampantly on sandeels, lots of fish busting and boiling on top, not a whole lot of birdlife, but if you just stayed in one spot you walloped them.
Gotta love the sandeels, they bring the big fish with them!
