Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

I attended the shark fishing seminar given by Captian Dave Schunke, star of TV's  "Fish Mavericks", this morning at The Reel Seat in Brielle. Joe, Bob, Eddie, as always, it was good to see you guys.

This was my first visit to The Reel Seat's new location and I must say owner Dave Arbeitman  did it up right. I was impressed with the wide variety of quality tackle and accessories available, and the space upstairs was perfect for hosting a group of Fishermen, a Fisherwoman, and a TV Personality.

Captian  Dave Schunke was informative with his Tournament Winning Tactics, taking time to explain his methods, things that do increase success as  well  as those that really don't give much advantage at all. He shared things he has learned from his years of experience filming for "Shark Week" with his production company, his many years of Shark fishing in Tournaments, fishing for fun, and for television too.  He took time and answered everyone's questions both during the seminar and after, and  had a lot of his Shark equipment on display for up close and personal review.

As the seminar concluded, it was time for the drawing for the door prizes. Joe walked away with an "I O U" for a bucket of Gulp! Chum, and I was lucky enough to win a 6' ARC Dehooker. While I was there, I also picked up a new Reel Seat shirt and 2 rattles to try out on my next shark trip.

I want to thank Dave Arbeitman at The Reel Seat for hosting this seminar, and Captain Dave Schunke for taking the time to share his knowledge with us. It takes a confident and selfless fisherman to stand up and teach his winning tactics to complete strangers, some of whom might very well might be fishing against him in some of the local Shark tournaments coming up over the next couple of weeks. Hats off to you Captain Dave, it was a pleasure to meet you.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Good to see you as always Darren. Nice win on the dehooker.  t^

As Darren said, very informative seminar with some quality information. Kudos to both Dave's for hosting and giving the seminar. I have been to several at the Reel Seat in the past year and all were worth it.  chrz
