Monday report
« on: November 13, 2007, 11:32:33 PM »
The 4th Dependent was out Monday around 1000am and we started jigging bass under the birds near the Verrazano. Caught about 9 bass, all 26" or smaller on an ugly stick lite with bucktail. FUN. Headed towards NY beaches and found some more birds and jigged a blue and a bass. I got aggravated and left fish to find fish. I was looking ( and hoping) to find some bigger fish. We headed back to the bridge and looked for the birds. Found a ton and tried jigging among 4 or 5 other boats that were trolling. It quickly became evident that I had to troll to avoid the mayhem of these boats trolling. Hooked up my favorite stretch 25's and started the best night of bassing to date. Landed and released at least 5 fish over 34 inches and kept three. 1 at 46", 1 at 36", and 1 at 28". It seemed like we were the only ones pulling up the big ones. The marks on my fish finder were amazing. All BIG readings. Great day. Ended at dark and went home to make a mess out of kitchen counter fileting the catch. Get out there now if you guys can.

Nice report, good catching.   t^
As fun as it is to jig up the fish, sometimes you do what you have to do and go on the troll.  Always great no matter how you catch them.   t^

OK, you guys up north are having to much fun.  Will you please send some big cows down south a bit.  I feel like an orphan down here.

The day was just a so so day. The ocean was flat no birds working along the surf.  I could count the fishermen on the beach with one hand.  I did not have the ambition to even put the waders on to even try.

Oh well, maybe tomorrow

Happy Catching
