Long island fluking
« on: July 02, 2015, 07:07:54 PM »
Have never fished the Long Island area or further north for fluke but have always heard how good it is there. My buddy Spence was going and invited us. My dad and I were lucky to get off work and were able to make the ride to Pt Jefferson. Got there at 5:50 and was shocked to see the entire bow was open except 1 spot.... Most fares seemed to come on in the last 15 minutes, definitley a different crowd then I'm used to party boat wise. It was nice to change scenery. Anyways they fished not too far from the inlet and fishing was drop and reel. Ended up catching my limit to 6 lbs and 40 shorts with as many searobins as shorts, all on gulp. I tied for high hook on the boat with Spences friend and came in 2nd for the pool, losing by 1 ounce  rgmn Pool was 220ish.

All in all, it was a great day and worth the ride up. Next trip will be Montauk  TT^
