vacation came early
« on: July 18, 2015, 05:32:32 PM »
Well, I made the last road trip down here to south Florida Tuesday. Stopped at the pier before we got to the house to see how the action was. Found 100's of snook holding under the pier just where I was standing alone. Wish I had my underwater camera to drop in on them.
Went out his morning before sunrise to get a spot and beat the rain. Fished for a few with only a juvenile barracuda which ate my sabiki rig and a small blue runner which went on a hook as bait. Hope it picks up for my final trip down here. House is pending sale and closing is on the 31st. So I got a week and a half to get some good fishing in.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Thanks guys. Went out again this morning.had a few snook roaming the pier but not biting. Spent the morning trying to catch goggle eyes for bait ($80\dozen off the bait boats) since they were hanging around also but I couldn't get them to take anything I had. Ended the day with 1 blue runner which was caught by my sister. Should be better tomorrow as long as the rain stays away long enough to hop on a drift boat

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Boynton Beach. About 1 hour north of Miami.

If you can get out on the ocean, you can pull in the good fish. Snook are around sometimes in heavy numbers other times lone soldiers. Bait is everywhere. Saw some moonfish around the pier also.  If the weather holds in the morning, I'll probably hit the drift boat again.
