8/5 Manasquan Inlet Fluking
« on: August 06, 2015, 08:06:22 AM »
Headed out yesterday with friend Adam. We made a few stops at Spring Lake, Red Church and a little hole off of SRI. We managed to get 5 cookie cutter legal fluke for the table and a handful of shorts. Of course the best action came at the end of the day when we needed to leave. Fluke are preferring the sand versus structure it seems.

BAM that's a good number  clp

Nice Fred. Do you ever measure them again before you cut them? I am always amazed at how much they can shrink. They never seem to grow (except in my stories.)

of that I have no doubt. just sayin' there is shrinkage.

if we are on YSA I can keep them alive til the dock, so it is a non-issue. With Tombo they go right in the bucket and shrink.

Yep. I kept them alive and kicking. I have a large fish box. A few inches of water and a bag of ice and they're golden.

Awesome Fred!!  I was actually told buy a CO once when I was stopped that they can actually grow a little once they die and their muscles relax..  But I would think if they are iced they would shrink..

Interesting. I would think if still alive they would stay the same. Either way. Rods away when coming in the inlet and to the dock so, I fit in with the other A-hole boaters. LOL
