Went out to east Long Island with my dad for Labor Day to fish.... We were weary of the wind forecast and ended up being correct, but thankfully we had some okay conditions in the morning. Fishing was slow, only 35 keepers for 45 people, but we pulled up some nice fish. I finished with 3 keepers and dropped 2 nice ones. One was 5/6 lbs that shook the hook 5 feet under and I dropped another fluke halfway up that was bigger then that. I always check my hooks and checked again after that they were fine, just bad luck I guess. My dad on the other hand could do no wrong. He caught 8 keepers for the day no shorts including his new personal best at 10.5 lbs. What's funny is he didn't win the pool, our friend from the Big Mohawk fishing in the bow did. Once I seen him in the morning I said "There goes our pool" and funnily enough it was true. His fish weighed a little over 11 lbs.
Great day, hasn't sunk in yet we caught a 10. Now I gotta get mine
