My little guy was excited to fish this past Saturday in the Raritan Bay Anglers Club annual kids fishing derby and casting contest.
Weather looked a little iffy but the rain held off for the events.
Was a tough day of catching with the snapper blues having lockjaw. Loads of spearing around so switched it up for the little guy and put a sabiki rig on his rod. He jigged up three spearing which at the time were the only thing caught for his age group so we bagged those just in case. Then he had a snapper blue on that fell off but ended up getting two more up and over the rail.
He had the most, the biggest, and smallest fish for his age class. Only can win one prize though, they say to be fair.
Out of the 7 fish caught for his division, he had 5 of them
He also casted all by himself and hit the target to win the casting contest for his age group!!!
I'm one proud papa!!!
