9/17 Shark River Reef
« on: September 17, 2015, 11:16:13 PM »
Hit the SRR today with my buddy Tommy since I couldn't scrounge up one more to take 70 mile ride for YFT. It is just too expensive to run the V-6's that far with 2 people. We tried all over the reef for cod and managed only 1 keeper cod and a keeper tog. We had good action on nice (up-to 5#) sea bass that had to be tossed. If bergals were sought after we would have been in heaven. After getting bored with bergals I decided to check out the water around the Lilian. It was barren.

Either way it was a great day with great conditions. It was nice to see Capt. Joe and crew as well.

Fred, fishing the "Kristy Marie" from Manasquan River Club. Channels 16/67/68.

Good seeing you out there Fred. Beautiful day on the water, not so good catching cod day.

I burned thru a lot of clams on the hungry bergals and really appreciate your generosity in sharing your supply. I owe you one buddy.  slt

t^Nice going Fellinger. Should be real good when Seabass opens. Very disheartening to throw back fish that size. Tight lines.
