Fall and even winter-like weather conditions this weekend with cautious water conditions. Canadian High Pressure will bring the coldest air of the season for much of the region with Freeze Watches in effect for Saturday and Sunday Nights for most of the state. Conditions will be mostly dry, with some lower chances of isolated showers or sprinkles of rain on Sunday. Some areas could even see their first flurries on Sunday Night. Skies will be mostly clear with sun and some clouds. Highs will only be in the 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows ranging from the upper 20’s to low 40’s overnight. Many areas will see frost and freezing temperatures. However, the cold won’t stick around long, as temperatures moderate back into the 60’s by early week. Water conditions will be cautious with Small Craft Advisories all weekend. Winds will be in the 10-20 knot range with winds gusting 25-30+ knots. Winds will be mostly northwest and westerly, so seas should not build greatly staying in the 2-3 foot range on average, but waves to 4 feet are possible. Weekend conditions will not be continuous and some pockets of good conditions are possible. Being that sea heights will average lower, winds may not prevent all from being out on the water. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Besides gusty winds to 30 knots, surf heights will be normal around 1-3 feet. Water temperatures have cooled into the lower to mid 60’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 2-4/15.
High pressure extending from Southern Canada into the Northern Great Plains will build southeast for the next few days, reaching the Ohio Valley on Sunday and the Mid Atlantic Region on Monday. This high pressure will bring the coldest air of the season on northwest winds and the first freezing temperatures for some areas. The high will push off the East Coast Tuesday and Wednesday bringing a return of southwest winds and moderating temperatures. A cold front late next week looks to be mostly dry.
Next week will looks to be dry starting off cool and warming back into the 60’s with overnight lows in the 40’s. There will be a cold front late in the week and there are always chances of rain, however it looks to be mostly dry right now. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mixed, with cautious conditions on Tuesday and Thursday, possibly into Friday.
There is an invest in the Gulf of Mexico which has low chances of developing. The rest of the tropics are quiet.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
