Rod Safety Lines
« on: September 26, 2015, 02:32:08 PM »
Decided to make myself up a set of safety lines.

Went with 1/4" all cotton line which is 400lb tensile and 2" taylorMade buckle that is also 400lb rated.  With these being cotton they will have to be rinsed and dried before storage to prevent rotting, but I like the softness they provide over nylon and believe its worth the extra step.

Both ends are spliced loops then heat shrink tubing to stop unraveling of the splice.

Gonna make two 10' and three 6' lines.

I have enough material to make a complete second set, so if anyone is interested let me know and I will try to figure out a nice honest price for the set of 5 being material cost and my time involved.

Nice,    Mine are made out of Dyneema line.  But they were not cheap.  Tournament cable.

Sweet Fred,,,

How would you like them? 3 six footers and 2 tens, or 3 ten footers if you put your way back in a rocket launcher with 2 six's. Or what?

I should have enough rope to even bump the three up to 8' if you want.

As for cost, how about 40 shipped?
