Another unsettled week with rain/snow chances, colder air, wind and cautious to hazardous weather conditions. Monday will have chances of rain and snow, likely mixing or a wintry mix through the day and night. During the day on Monday colder air will move in with a strong cold front. Highs for Monday will be in the 50’s and 60’s with overnight lows down into the 20’s and 30’s. Tuesday will be dry with more sun than clouds, however highs will only be in the 40’s with lows again in the 20’s and 30’s. Wednesday will have a mix of sun and clouds with rain showers developing for the overnight. Highs will be in the 40’s and 50’s with lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with rain and showers all day. Highs will return to the 50’s and 60’s, but overnight lows will drop down into the 30’s and 40’s. Friday will have a mix of sun and clouds with rain showers possible for northern areas. Highs will be in the 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows back down into the 20’s and 30’s. Winds will be breezy to gusty most of the week! Water conditions will be mostly hazardous to cautious with some borderline days and pockets of good conditions. Small Craft Advisories are likely most of the week as well. Winds will gust to 35 knots with inshore seas to 10 feet and midshore to offshore could see seas to 20+ feet. Rivers and bays will have cautious to hazardous conditions on Monday, cautious and then borderline conditions on Tuesday, cautious conditions on Wednesday, borderline to cautious conditions on Thursday, and borderline to cautious conditions on Friday. Inshore ocean waters will have hazardous conditions on Monday, cautious to hazardous conditions on Tuesday, and cautious conditions on Wedneday, Thursday, and Friday. Midshore to Offshore waters will be hazardous all days except for Wednesday, which will be cautious. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious this week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will have surf heights to 8 feet possible and winds to 35 knots. Surf on Wednesday will be 2-4 feet, but winds will still gust to 25+ knots. Water temperatures have dropped by a degree or two with waters in the 40’s and 50’s. UV Index will be Low to High at 0-7/15.

High pressure briefly settles over the area Sunday Evening before a clipper low track across the Northern Mid Atlantic Region on Monday. A strong cold front with this system will move southward through the area Monday Afternoon and Evening. High pressure builds in from the Great Lakes on Tuesday and then shifts off the East Coast on Wednesday. An area of low pressure moving across the Great Lakes Wednesday Night may reorganize farther south along the Mid Atlantic Coast on Thursday and then intensify as it move northward into New England late in the week. High pressure looks to build in behind the low during the weekend.

The weekend is looking dry right now with highs in the 40’s and 50’s and lows in the 20’s to 30’s, as still cool air remains in the region. Water, surf and beach conditions will be hazardous to cautious as the winds continue for the weekend causing building seas.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
