A winter-like start to the weekend with most cautious water conditions again! Saturday will have chances of rain and snow all day. Snow could accumulate up to 2 inches across northern parts of the state, with less than an inch or no accumulation across the southern half of the state. However, snow is still possible across this area with a rain/snow to wintry mix making a mess on the roads. Worst case scenario puts upwards of 3-4 inches of snow across the state. This forecast is likely to change over the next 24-36 hours. Highs on Saturday will be in the 30’s to 40’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Sunday will be mostly dry with some sun and slightly warmer temperatures. Rain or snow showers are possible on Sunday Night going into Monday, mainly across northern areas, but by Monday rain and snow chances cover the state. Highs will be in the 40’s and 50’s with 30’s and 40’s overnight. Winds will be brisk this weekend. Water conditions will be most cautious with some good conditions and some hazardous conditions depending on location. Winds will gust to 35 knots with seas 6 feet inshore and 15 feet midshore to offshore. Water temperatures range from the 40’s to 50’ still with some cooling on ocean waters. UV Index will be Low to High at 0-7/15.
A cold front crossed the area Thursday Afternoon. A weak clipper system will cross the region on Saturday, moving offshore and deepening as it moves off to the northeast. High pressure over the Ohio Valley will slide to the south of the region Sunday, moving offshore and to the east through Monday. A low pressure system will cross to the north off the area Tuesday, dragging a cold front across the region Tuesday Afternoon or evening. A large area of high pressure will build in from the west for the remainder of the week.
The week will start off wet with rain and snow chances on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday look dry. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50’s with lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious right now with some good conditions possibly on Wednesday.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
