A much more settled week for both weather and water conditions. Monday will be sunny and dry with highs in the 70’s and lows in the 40’s and 50’s. Tuesday and Wednesday will have low chances of showers at night with highs in the 70’s and 80’s with lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Thursday will have the greatest chances of showers all day with highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Friday will have low chances of showers during the day with highs in the 70’s again and lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Overall, not the hottest of weeks, nor humid with low to moderate humidity. Water conditions will be mixed depending on the day and location. Monday will start off cautious for all waters, with some areas seeing an improvement of conditions during the day. Tuesday will see most areas back to good conditions, but some ocean locations will still be cautious. Wednesday and Thursday will have good conditions for all locations. Friday will see a return of gusty winds and higher seas with cautious conditions for most areas, except Raritan and Barnegat Bays. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious on Monday and Friday and good for Tuesday through Thursday. Monday will see gusty winds to 30 knots and seas to 4 feet with a Low to Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Friday will have a return of gusty winds and seas with surf heights to 5 feet and a Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Water temperatures are steady with all waters in the 60’s and 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Extreme at 3-11/15.
A cold front will continue to push south and east of the area this afternoon. Low pressure will move over the Canadian Maritimes while high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes tonight and Monday. A frontal boundary is expected to stall to our west across the Ohio River Valley and to our south across Virginia midweek. An area of
low pressure will pass to our west and then south Thursday into Friday. High pressure tries to build in from the north next weekend while a coastal low may develop somewhere along the Southeast or Mid Atlantic Coast.
The weekend looks dry, right now, with highs in the 70’s and 80’s with overnight lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Water conditions will depend on the development of a coastal low. Regardless of where the low develops, the gradient between high and low pressure could make for windy conditions and high seas. Cautious conditions will be possible, as well as Moderate to Higher Risks of Rip Currents.
Tropics are quiet right now.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
