Sandy Hook Fluking - 7/6/16

Finally got up to fish Raritan Bay last week.  It was the first time venturing out that way since getting the boat last season.  
Had my fishing buddy Ken out with me.  Launched from Leonardo around 0730 and bounced around exploring the new territory till about 1330.  Zero wind, 90+ deg and blazing sun made for a warm day.  
We finished the day with 40 fish total, 7 of which were legal.  Not a bad ratio.  And a very successful trip.  
We'll be back.

At the moment the plan is to head back out to the same area when I get out of work at 0630 tomorrow. 
Unless the wind forecast bumps up, then I'll be off to Manasquan.

We watched that line on the chart very closely and kept our distance.  Saw quite a few boats get chased out of the channel by the 50 Cal.

Hi, my name's Bill .First time on the forum. Well, that's the story of my life,I guess, missed it by a couple days. A friend has a 24' Proline C.C. we trailered to Sandy Hook 7/10. No drift in the morning, breeze against the tide,skate/sea robin city! Better in the after noon,fished the hook to the S.H. reef and back, lots of throw backs and finished the day w/ 2 Sea Bass and 2 20" fluke. Maybe next time.
