The idea was to fish the ocean today, after rounding the Hook Tom and I found the seas rough with a roll, and we slid over to the Knoll where the roll was tolerable. We had incoming tide till 9AM with a NE wind which carried the Roosters in to near Chapel Hill Channel. At the turn of the tide I picked up two keeper Fluke @ 18” as we drifted out to the single Candlestick where the roll got so bad it was uncomfortable to fish and we headed in at noon.
Tom had no keepers today although he did a number on the Sea Robins and one doggie. There were many short Fluke, no yellow-eyed demons and the preferred bait was Tom’s giant Killies, baited two on at a time. There were no fish at the breakwater at Atlantic Highlands Harbor although we saw our freind, the pinhooker fishing there at noon. Pete
