Englewood Pier Report

"Got to Englewood pier right about 7:30 am. Started working the pilings with a NBJ tipped with shrimp, before long had 3 jacks on the pier. Tide was changing and decided to dead stick one rod with an NBJ and a greenback.

Shortly after the rod went off and the fight was on. 20 minutes later or so, whatever it was chewed through the leader and lived to swim again.
Don't know what it was but my guess is a big black drum.

Managed to hook and land a short ray before meeting the family at the beach. Back at it tomorrow!" Al Evens Jr.
