Another unsettled week to finish out November and take us into December. The week will start off dry on Monday Day with rain and showers moving in for Monday Night, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Day. Statewide, 1-3 inches of rain are possible this week. Thursday Night will see clearing conditions and Friday will be dry. Temperatures will be above normal most of the week. Highs will start and end seasonably in the 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows in the 30’s and 40’s. However, midweek highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s with 40’s and 50’s for lows. Water conditions will be mostly cautious. The week starts off with good conditions, deteriorating to cautious with winds to 30+ knots and seas to 8 feet inshore and 15 feet offshore. Rivers and bays will be slightly better and will have some borderline conditions mixed in, especially for the end of the week. Small Craft Advisories have already been issued and will likely continue for a good part of the week. Surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious with gusty winds to 25+ knots and surf heights to 5+ feet. Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 40’s for rivers and bays, upper 40’s to mid 50’s inshore and mid to upper 50’s offshore. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 0-3/15.
High pressure centered over the Mid-Atlantic region through tonight will move offshore Monday. Low pressure strengthens over the Northern Plains on Monday and then slowly drifts eastward across the Great Lakes region midweek. Several waves of low pressure system will develop ahead of this low and will impact our area Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front moves through on Thursday. High pressure then builds in from the west Friday through next weekend.
The weekend looks dry, but cooler with highs in the 40’s and lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will stay cautious, but only for winds to 25 knots. Seas look to settle to 2-4 feet.
The Tropics are quiet still and this week ends the official Atlantic Tropical Season.
