A more settled week for weather and water conditions. Still not perfect, but better than previous weeks. The beginning of the week will be dry with rain and snow showers and/or a wintry mix moving in on Thursday and clearing up for Friday Night. Right now, it is too early to call any accumulation, but it is possible for Thursday and Friday. The strong cold front that moved through this weekend will lessen by midweek. Highs will start off in the 20’s and 30’s increasing into the 40’s by weeks end. Overnight lows will start off in the single digits to teens increasing to the 20’s and 30’s. Water conditions will be mixed from good to borderline to cautious. Some offshore areas will even see hazardous condition towards the end of the week. Surf and beach conditions will be the same as ocean conditions. Water temperatures are steady in the 40’s and 50’s. UV Index will be Low at 0-2/15.
A strong cold front will continue to move across the northern Middle Atlantic region this evening. High pressure well to the west will begin to ridge across our area later tonight and remain in control of the weather into the middle part of the week. Another disturbance will organize across the Great Lakes and begin to affect our weather next Thursday.
Christmas Weekend looks good, at this point seven days out, with dry conditions and seasonable temperatures in the 40’s and 50’s for highs. Overnight lows will be in the 20’s and 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious on Saturday and good to borderline on Sunday.
