Sunday’s Water Conditions

A snowy start to the weekend, clearing out and cold for Sunday with hazardous and cautious water conditions. Another coastal storm will pass offshore bringing snow to the state, with the highest accumulations to the south and east. Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories have been posted. Snow will begin in the morning and last most of the day brining anywhere from less than an inch in northern areas to 7 inches for Southeastern NJ. Worst case scenario would bring more than 10 inches to these areas. Highs will only be in the 20’s with single digits and teens overnight. Saturday Night and Sunday will be windy bringing Hazardous Conditions on Saturday with Gale Warnings and Small Craft Advisories. Winds will gust to 30+ knots and seas will push 7+ feet inshore and 15 feet offshore. Sunday will have cautious conditions with Small Craft Advisories with winds to 25 knots and seas to 6 feet.

Developing low pressure in the northeast Gulf of Mexico this evening will track northeast to a position just east of New England Saturday evening. Cold high pressure builds into the region to start the new work week before pushing offshore Tuesday. Low pressure developing in the northern plains will rapidly progress northeast to southeast Canada, bringing a cold front through the area on Wednesday. The pattern appears to remain unsettled to close out the week.

Have a great weekend! Be safe!!
