A wet week with a cold start followed by an unseasonable warm up with mostly cautious water conditions. Monday will be dry and clear, but cold with highs only in the 20’s and low 30’s with overnight lows in the teens and 20’s. Tuesday will have rain with a slight increase in temperatures into the 30’s and 40’s with lows only in the 30’s and 40’s. Tuesday will bring ice/freezing rain and snow across northern areas. Accumulations will be an inch or less. Ice accretions will be more troublesome, but nothing major. Ice will cause slippery conditions on surfaces and possibly some tree limb and electric issues with some winds. Wednesday will have rain and warmer temperatures into the 40’s and 50’s with lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Thursday and Friday will have showers with highs in the 40’s and 50’s and lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Thursday and Friday could see mid 50’s, maybe even some upper 50’s. Water and surf conditions will be mostly cautious all week with gusty wind to 30 knots and seas to 7 feet inshore and 9 feet offshore. Rivers and bays, as well as some ocean waters may have good conditions at times. Water temperatures have dropped by a few degrees. UV Index will be Low at 0-2/15.
Arctic high pressure over the Ohio Valley this afternoon will build along the Eastern Seaboard tonight and move offshore by Monday night. A series of low pressure systems are expected to track across the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions during the mid to late part of the week. Milder air will overspread the Mid Atlantic during this time, before a cold front moves through either by early next weekend, marking the return of colder air. The active weather pattern may continue into next weekend with a
series of disturbances approaching from the southwest.
The weekend will have chances of rain both days with highs in the 30’s and 40’s and lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious with winds to 20 knots and seas 4-5 feet.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
