After not participating in Warriors for Warriors due to weather I have been chomping at the bit to get out for some toothy critters before family vacation next week. I had a very limited window yesterday after some morning family obligations but was able to get my buddy Paul and his girlfriend interested in a run to the south for sharks. I knew the weather wasn't going to be the smoothest but, decided to give it a go anyway.
Left the dock around 1:30 and went to the inlet. All looked good, fueled up and grabbed a bucket of chum with the intent to run South to the Star or Fingers. The conditions were annoying, good blow and pretty tight 2'-3's out of the SW. Conditions gave us a good pounding. About halfway there I decided to nose it more East for a little smoother ride and put the Resor in my sights. I pulled up to what I call the Resor finger just inside of the wreck. I was hopeful as we were greeted with some tuna chicks and a whale leaving the area.
Chum and baits in the 63 degree clean blueish greet water and we waited, and waited and waited until conditions turned and blow increased and 3'-5's rolled in. Pulled the plug around 6:30 and headed home in the slop.
Nothing to show for the day....
