NOAA's ARS crime against the American people
« on: May 27, 2017, 11:30:17 PM »
rgmn  Crimes against the American people
NOAA's 3 day 2017 American Red Snapper season, and Amendment 40:

NOAA doubles red snapper violation fines:
For red snapper violations that involve ARS caught in federal waters during a closed season, that are over the catch limit, undersized, or filleted at sea, the penalty now starts at $500.00 per violation, plus an additional $50.00 per fish.

What the Experts are saying about the American Red Snapper, & Amendment 40:

Dr. Robert Shipp, Director of Marine Science, University of South Alabama, Leading expert on Red Snapper:

"There are 3.5 times more Red Snapper in the AL reef zone alone than the NMFS shows in the entire Gulf of Mexico."
   Dr. Robert Shipp

Mr. Nick Wiley, Executive Director, FWC:

"FWC strongly opposed sector separation and Amendment 40 also.  We felt it was dividing the fishery and the fishermen.  We did our best to convince the other Florida Council representatives (all three of them) to vote with FWC, but they would not."   Mr.  Nick Wiley

Amendment 40 (Sector Separation) is what resulted in a 3 day recreational; 49 day federal permitted for-hire 2017 Gulf of Mexico ARS season.

Think the for-hire head/charter boat fishery approves of Sector Separation (Amendment 40)? Think again!

Captain Dylan Hubbard, and Sig, Hubbard's Marina:

"Time to stand up for your rights. Hubbard’s Marina DOES NOT and has NEVER SUPPORTED SECTOR SEPARATION so before you think that we are happy with 3 day season for recreational anglers and our 49 day season for red snapper first realize that we have vehemently opposed this idea since it was first ever discussed and begged the recreational anglers to get involved in fighting against Sector separation (amendment 40) when that didn’t work we waiting till the sunset provision when it came up for a reinstatement and again we vehemently opposed it and urged recreational anglers to join us.

Despite our opposition and actually, a majority of fed permitted for-hire sectors opposition the amendment was pushed through. (More than 3/4 of for-hire sector opposed this still don’t know how it was passed) However, Sector separation is now law, there’s nothing more we can do about it but we still have to unite."

     Captain Dylan Hubbard

Guys, I do not know what the answer is, or if there even is an answer. But I do know this...the better informed, more involved, and the better united we are, the better our chances are  of taking back what is being stolen from us.   Bob Harbison

Thank you for the post. There is a MAJOR LEAGUE DISCONNECT of what is taking place in our waters and those who sit in an office, send puppets into the field and bring back BULLSHYT field data.

They keep their jobs thru false reporting and insane law enactments/regulations to justify their existence to make it appear they are knowledgeable.

In fact, they work for us. We pay their BIG salaries thru our taxes. The time has come to eradicate these very same government employees. They know nothing.

We, the real people, in the real world, who EARN our living from the sea know it best. Yes, regulations work, only when your data is CORRECT.

Agreed. We pay them BIG $$$ to represent the best interest of fish & fishermen alike. Wonder who 'they' actually represent?  It's NOT the American fishermen!

As noted by fellow concerned fishermen:
People need jail time over this (NOAA's complete disregard for the American people)
I might suggest you look up http://www.freedom2fish.org/
People in TX on the 2coolfishing.com board started this and they've gotten over $50k in donations so far to fight this fight. They're well organized and taking the fight nationwide and to DC.
More information here on 2cool- http://2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/sh....php?t=2276842

My response:
Great idea !

Great idea! The more we know, get involved, the better we will be able to control rather than be controlled by a corrupt government.

Jail time is definitely needed for crimes 'Crimes against the American people.'
Good place to start would be Jane Lubchenco.

Obama appointed Lubchenco to head his new 'Science Team,' Under NOAA, in December of 2008. She was an executive with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). She also worked with Pew's 'Oceans Commissions.' Their goal...privation of the fishery through Catch/Shares, and Sector/Separation. When Lubchenco was appointed she brought many of her EDF top leaders with her. Lubchenco resigned, for 'family' reasons, on February 27, 2013. But the damage remains.

Next comes Roy Crabtree.

Roy was appointed as NMFS Regional Administrator in 2003. When Lubchenco came on board he quickly became her 'Right Hand Man' on both the Gulf Council as well as SAFMC. He was instrumental in shoving Sector Separation down the throats of the American people. Roy Crabtree is a voting member on both the Gulf Council & SAFMC. He has, and still, votes for virtually every 'restrictive' fishing measure he can.

Next in line Pam Dana.

Pam is in her second term as the 'recreational representative' on the Gulf Council. Pam owns Sure Lure Charters. She sold out the American people by voting YES on Amendment 40, Sector Separation. In doing so, Pam Dana helped assure a 49 day ARS season for her boat, Sure Lure.

If anyone has contact information for the Department of Commerce, NMFS, SAFMC, or Roy Crabtree, please advise.
Pam Dana will sometimes respond; the rest will not.
