Testing out the salty waters of Fort Lauderdale
« on: August 19, 2019, 10:11:06 AM »
There's so many saltwater species down here that I was a bit intimidated with them when I first moved down three years ago. However, I miss saltwater fishing too much so I decided to give it a shot.

PS Hotrod, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but when I try to embed the video, I keep getting the "invalid youtube link" message. Thanks for fixing the other posts.

Very nice. Wait until a nice Crevalle finds the end of your line cruising by.  t^  I used to use an App called Fish Rules down there to help ID and check size/possession limits.

I'll check it out. I was doing some research today in hopes of catching my first snook. All my life I thought that snook was a specific species of fish. Today I found out that there are actually 4 different species of snook. Best part is that they all almost look identical.

Was never able to get them to bite when fishing for them. I can remember one weekend where they blacked out the visibility under the pier but no one could get them to bite. Shrimp was the go to bait when they were around. I liked the crevalles though. They looked awesome speeding through the water and put up a good fight

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
