Huge Summer Solstice Catch
American Red Snapper and Gag Grouper season is finally here and the catches have been outstanding.
3:00 PM Friday 6/19/20, The Florida Fisherman ll leaves Madeira Beach for the fish famous Florida Middle Grounds and beyond; yes, beyond. The Florida will fish the Grounds Friday night for the elusive Mangrove Snapper, and beyond, way beyond, Saturday for bigger American Reds and Gag Grouper. We will be looking for yet another:

Hopefully history will repeat itself.
Summer Solstice 2018, 2019:

Summer Solstice marks the beginning of Summer in the entire Northern Hemisphere; it's the longest day of the year. On Saturday, 6/20/20 day light will last for 16 hours and 38 minutes. Hopefully the fish will be hungry, very hungry:
The weather is absolutely Florida Perfect:

Good friends getting together on the water is simply the best of times:

Trolling on the way out offers extreme excitement:

Excitement and beauty beyond belief:

Let the fights begin:

Tammy, that's a beautiful Scamp Grouper:

The Scamp Grouper is one of the most flavorful fish ever to swim; a real prize:
Traditionally American Red fishing is better during the day; Mangrove Snapper (Mango) at night.
Midnight Friday... The Mangos grow really BIG on the Grounds. And the best part, our two day possession limit is 20, and there is NO closed season.

Now that's impressive:

Saturday morning, the longest day of the year. The Gag Grouper are plentiful, hungry, and ready for a fight.
The Grouper Family has 159 members. Florida's own Gag Grouper is one of the hardest fighting, best eating, of all.
For a real can't miss treat try the sandwich that help make Florida famous, the Grouper sandwich:

Tammy taught us how to catch Scamp Grouper.
We listened:

And now, one of the most sought-after fish of all,
the world famous...

Early Sunday morning:

Hopefully history will repeat itself.
Well!

A Huge Summer Solstice Catch and coming home in the money. It just does not get any better than that:

Mystery fish... This is an easy one:

Next up, Sunday, 3 PM, Captain Garett Hubbard will be running a private charter. Will share.
Speaking of sharing, there has been very little sharing of Red Snapper, Gag Grouper catches. Please share your great catches with us.
No better way to share than with on the water pictures & video.
Watch in amazement as you see, first hand, what  Florida Fishing is all about.
'Catch' the action in this John Martin video:
