Going to Miami
« on: January 20, 2008, 11:56:59 PM »
Going down for the boat Show next month. May be able to get a fishing trip in. Was wondering if anyone knows whats running next month and if they know any captains in the area they might recommend. I've never been down there before, so I don't know what to expect.

Sailfish and king mackerel during the day outfront and spanish mackerel inshore/bay.

Swordfish at night.

Off the top of my head I'd recommend Capt. Bouncer Smith and the Miss Britt (can't think of captain's name). Do a google search on both. Both have well earned reputations as top notch boats.

I can provide you with more names later tonight if interested.

BIG daytime sword fisher now. 1500-200 ft of water, smack in middle of the day. Right on the bottom. Bigger fish to boot.
Heard about @ SWS seminar AND saw it on Tv to boot.

Not sure what's going on this month but I can personally recomend Capt. Gavet Tuttle. Nice guy and a good fisherman.

He fishes the same waters as Bouncer Smith. I haven't fisheed with Bouncer Smith but I met him when fishing with Capt Gavet. Also a nice guy and his reputation speaks for itself.

At first we told him it was senior week and he was excited. Then he found out that senior week was the high school kids. Well that did it...
