Sweet, that didn't take long.  I remember when you just sent them out.  Good going Penn...

Can't wait till March.  I know the bass are around all the time but there is always something about March and April that gets me going.  I can almost smell it in the air.

At least down here I can do that. rofla

I have a Penn or 2, but I would never buy another Penn. I haven't been happy with them in MANY years.

Shimano is my choice for most part except my new Avet. I LOVE it.

Fishinfool is going to get me a new Shimano Spinner (Saragosa) in March when they roll out tho.

My pops dumped all is international baitcasters and now has a Shimano Trinidad, Toriums and and Avet. He REALLY likes the Shimanos for bass/blues.

I agree with Luna, Penn service has been good to me as well.  Pretty quick turn around and the quality of work is excellent.

Mboy, its true the smaller Penn stuff is lacking. I've heard nothing but complaints about the baitcasters and to some degree, the graphite bodied spinners ( which I own).
BUT, the offshore stuff is still top notch. I've seen, first hand, more than few Tiagras blow up on a big fish.  Internationals all the way.

go to Penn's website, get the service form and follow the instructions.  I got mine back very quick.  You can send them just to get professionally serviced even if there is nothing wrong with them.

I tell you what, I just tried my new outfit yesterday and it is sweet.  The Penn 525Mag is so smooth and the 6 - 1 ratio is a kicker.  I don't know what kind of troubles everyone has been having but the guys down here at the B&T's still like them.  I am not talking about the owners but the guys that work the store and fish the beach.

Paul from Grumpy's and Rich from Betty& Nicks still recommend them and have them personally.  5hrug

Nice Nick.. I overhauled my 112H this weekend.. After spending about 2 hours trying to put the bridge assembly back together, I woulda given someone 24 bucks just to shoot me in the head  bngh It came out nice, but sending them to Penn is for sure a good idea.. I do it just to give me something to do in the winter.

That $24.00 was to service and fix the drag on 2 reels.  950SS and a 550SS spinning.  I think its $.40 per minute of labor.  Not a bad deal at all.  If you only had 1 reel, it wouldn't even cost you that much.
