Hunter 2 sunday in North Caroliina
« on: February 17, 2008, 06:22:12 PM »
Once again pops and I head up to the inland waterway north of Elizabeth city. Outside temp was in the 50's, wind was s.west with gusts of 25mph. Water temp was 49 to 51 deg, with cloudy skies with occasional sun. The seas were flat being that we were protected by wetlands on both sides of the waterway. We trolled for around 3 hours back and fourth along the same mile of coastline. Landing 20 striped bass with 5 keepers between 18" and 23". We were trolling with the same 2 red and white 2 1/2" rattletrap lures. We were doing better heading upriver and were getting no hits when the sun came out of the clouds for a few minutes at a time. We set out a third reel for a while that was spooled with monofilament and only caught 2 fish with it. The braided line rigs outfished the mono big time! I will post pics on Monday when I get home.. chrz chrz  Eddie
