Vote on Options for 2008 Fluke Season
« on: February 24, 2008, 02:33:26 PM »
These are the options that are proposed.  What one do you prefer?
Why?
Any other thoughts?

I would like to see a split in the size.  Say, 2 fish at 17" and 4 fish over 18.  Have the open season similar to option 4.

That will eliminate some (at least 2 fish) of the catch and release fatalities.  You would also be almost assured of keeping at least two fluke for the dinner table.

I was up in the air on that. Chose option 3 but 4 would be good too, because of the longer season. Could always stretch the 18's to 18 1/2 with a meat mallot.

I chose the 3rd option. Another option would be 1st week of june with a mid oct. closing with a 5 fish limit at 18 inches. This way we can enjoy a fall fishery. Water doesn't start to warm up until june anyway.Fishing was great right up until the last day in 07. Remember the blow that day. I had 7 keepers in an 1hr and half up to 23 inches off shore of mantaloking.

I am going to market with my new invennshun- the "fluke-stretcher".  ::) I think all of the options stink, but will go with the longest season.

I agree with you CaptBob. But they are going to ram one of these down our throats this year.  Just like they did last year.

I would rather a couple of smaller fish mixed in with the large.  Keep 2 at 17 and 4 at 18.  At least that way, the poundage caught would be reduced with the smaller fish and most everyone would come home with something for the dinner table.

But again, yes. All of the options suck.  Sorta like the political ring with who we get to vote for president.  They all suck too, but pick the one who sucks the least.   bngh

well we know it has to be option 3 or 4, because the JCAA has their Tournament before option 1 or 2 opens (June 14), and I had my buddy check who works at Trump Marina, it is booked for the awards on June 20.......soo that narrows the options a tad 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug 5hrug

Yeah, if you remember, they did that last year too.  Had the tourney set before the season was.  It's nice to have the inside track.   TT^
