made some flounder chum

next week is opening of flounder season here in nj and I am getting the itch to get some of them tastey little fish .I again took the wifes blender and went to work ,I made up about 80-100 cups of my home brew chum ,I cant wait to start using it next sunday

blended up clam bellies,white rice, dog food,bunker oil .not much to making your own chum .I cant see buying it for 3-4 dollars a log when you can make it for a couple cents each .I got about 100 cups and put out 26 dollars,I like to bring 15 a trip so I dont have to worry about running out all day .

dry, it breaks down slow as the water gets to it ,it has all the right stuff in it to atract fish.I used to use wet but this year I am being cheap about it and I had to get my hounds off there high protien food now that it is not running season .sunday cant come fast enough ,I am gonna dig worms on friday

I put the corn in the pot when I fill it ,I dont like to mix it w/ clam it turns brown

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember hearing a while back that using corn was bad for the Flounder.

Something about them being unable to digest it?

It clogs up their digestive tract and kills them.

never saw a dead flounder  ;D.rutger did a study on it and they pass it no problem ,I was always a believer of that also until I read up on it and someone on nj hunter showed me the studdy

Nice job on the chum!  I'd like to make some but if my wife caught me using her blender - I'd be the chum!  Is that what it generally costs - $3-$4 bucks?  What type of worms are you digging?

Flounder will not die from corn they can crap mussels shells out themselves.. maybe with other species like trout but i doubt flounder will have a problem

plus after they eat the corn we catch em t^
