Riding the Beach Safely
« on: March 13, 2008, 03:18:19 PM »
Hi All,

As we all are suffering from Cabin Fever and all we want to do is get out and fish I would like to remind you about beach safety as a lot of new people are making their way to the beach this year for the very first time and have never driven on sand before.  Please take the time to read the article below.

Click on the Paper Clip below to bring up the article.

Safety and a properly stocked and driven vehicle will make for a great summer of fun in the sun.

Happy Catching

Paul

When I had my 4WD in the 90's and got my permit for Island Beach State park, I charged out on the beach and got immediately stuck.

I was helped by another fisherman who deflated my tires (very important) and took my jeep out of the variable drive and locked it into full-time four wheel drive. That got me going.

It was great to have assistance by this friendly fisherman.

Many more fishing trips were enjoyed on the beach and was never stuck again.

Paul, nice write-up. First timers and experienced beach trekkers can benefit from these great pointers.
