Sheepshead Bay Ling
« on: March 26, 2008, 08:59:52 PM »
I fished yesterday on the only party boat that sailed from Sheepshead Bay and managed to bag 4 very nice ling and a small keeper blackfish for my efforts.  Some fares managed as many as a dozen ling, but most onboard managed numbers similar to what I put on the deck. It was nice day on the water and good way to end my mini-vacation. We were fishing right next to the Dauntless from PP and if you head out with them plan on bringing a lot of lead as the ling seem to be holding tight to some very sticky structure.

Nice catch.  t^
I know the Dauntess likes to fish the Shark River Reef.  Is that where you were? That's a fairly long ride from Sheepshead Bay.

Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

We were west of 17 fathoms, closer to the Sandy Hook Reef.  Long ride for the Dauntless.

Does Sheepshead bay still have a large fleet? I remember growing up with over 20 party boats over in the bay. Try Randazzos for Calamari and baked clams. Its been over 20 years since I was over there. chrz

Sadly, the party boat fleet has dwindled to just a few boats. Last week there was only one sailing. I'm partial to clams at Lundy's, even though I believe it is not the original.
